At Hatch Interiors, we believe commercial interior design is more than creating beautiful spaces, it's about helping organizations perform better. We partner with businesses, developers, institutions, and commercial clients to design environments that improve operations, strengthen culture and create long-term value.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Interior Designer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving studio and enjoys balancing design creativity with technical excellence. This role is ideal for someone who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client relationships, and the opportunity to help shape the future of a growing commercial design firm.
As a senior member of our team, you will lead projects from early visioning through construction, mentor junior designers, and work alongside firm leadership to deliver exceptional experiences for our clients.
What You'll Do
· Lead commercial interior design projects from programming through project completion.
· Develop creative, thoughtful design solutions that respond to each client's operational goals, brand, culture and budget.
· Conduct client programming sessions, workplace assessments and space planning studies.
· Produce and oversee schematic design, design development and construction documentation in Revit.
· Create compelling design presentations using renderings, finish palettes, furniture selections and presentation materials.
· Specify architectural finishes, lighting, furniture, artwork, accessories, and interior materials that balance aesthetics, durability and long-term performance.
· Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and manufacturers throughout the design and construction process.
· Review shop drawings, finish submittals, RFIs and product substitutions while protecting design intent.
· Participate in project budgeting, scheduling and consultant coordination.
· Conduct site observations during construction and assist with punch walks and project closeout.
· Mentor and support junior designers by providing technical guidance, design feedback and professional development.
· Help establish and maintain Hatch Interiors' quality standards, documentation processes and design best practices.
· Build lasting client relationships through exceptional communication, responsiveness and trusted professional guidance.
· Contribute to the continued growth of Hatch Interiors through networking, business development and thought leadership opportunities.
What We're Looking For
· Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program.
· 7–10 years of commercial interior design experience.
· NCIDQ Certification required.
· Strong knowledge of commercial building systems, accessibility requirements, life safety, building codes and construction practices.
· Advanced proficiency in Revit.
· Working knowledge of Enscape, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
· Experience producing comprehensive construction documents and coordinating consultant drawings.
· Strong knowledge of commercial furniture, finishes, materials, specifications and product applications.
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
· A collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to mentor others while continuing to learn and grow professionally.
